As a Software Engineer , you will be part of our global people technology team, playing a pivotal role in building scalable, future-ready solutions that help support Maersk's people strategy.

Role Summary

Maersk offers a unique opportunity to join a global People Technology team focused on optimising and evolving HR technology solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will work across modules including Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits supporting both frontend and backend technologies such as the Maersk Career Site, Workday ecosystem. Beyond application support and enhancement, you will partner with the People Function as a trusted advisor, translating complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions. The role also drives AI and automation initiatives to streamline HR processes, improve employee experiences, enhance decision-making, and increase operational efficiency across the HR technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance applications across frontend and backend technologies using various programming languages and development tools to support business needs.

• Develop AI-driven automation solutions by building Generative AI applications, copilots, and autonomous agents that streamline HR operations, enhance employee experiences, and provide intelligent decision support.

• Responsible for the quality design and implementation (supportable, maintainable, scalable, performant, secure) of APIs delivering business value

• Configure, enhance, and support Workday Recruitment, Compensation, and Benefits modules, including business process design, security, eligibility rules, integrations, validations, reporting, and system optimisation to meet evolving business requirements.

• Ensure code quality and adherence to development standards, CI/CD practices, code management strategies, and Workday configuration best practices, maintaining scalable, secure, and supportable solutions.

• Contribute to team capability growth through peer reviews, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and constructive feedback.

• Advisory to Product Owners to identify and manage risks, debt, issues and opportunities for the technical improvement

• Participate in strategic projects implementing new features, enhancements and additional systems.

• Manage change requests by impact assessing, solution design, testing and delivering.

• Perform Day-to-day operational tasks on incident management, managing mass loads, supporting HR Operations.

• Work agile in Scrum teams.

Required Qualifications

• 4 - 6 years experience in building and supporting applications on .NET stack

• Hands on experience on frontend frameworks: Vue

• Hands-on experience in developing scalable and robust RESTful APIs, with basic understanding of OAuth2.0 authentication protocols and OWASP security best practices

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including micro services architecture, App Services, API Management/Gateways, cloud-native development, and system integrations.

• Strong DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines (GitHub), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and containerized deployment using Docker

• Any database knowledge: NoSQL, MongoDB

• Good understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI/ML concepts, with hands-on experience developing LLM-based solutions, including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and model fine-tuning. Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar AI platforms is desirable.

• Knowledge of Cache based system

• Experience with Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices, including developing effective unit and integration test cases using appropriate testing frameworks

• Good understanding of UX & UI principles and should be able to apply them while building solutions.

• Experience with Workday, with expertise in one or more of the following modules: Core HCM, Recruitment, Compensation, or Benefits. Participation in a Workday implementation or transformation project is a strong advantage.

• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Practical experience working in Agile Scrum teams and sprint-based delivery environments.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate HR functional needs into technical requirements
