Job Description
Factory Software Engineer — Los Angeles
Location: Los Angeles, CA (On-site, 5 days per week) Job Type: Full-time, equity role Visa: US citizens only
About Nox Metals
Nox Metals is building the fastest metals processing factories in America. Software and automation, not manual labor and paperwork. We're opening a new multi-material facility in LA and need someone to build the software that runs it.
The Role
You're the first software engineer at this facility. You will build the production systems that power quoting, scheduling, procurement, and machine operations from day one. Your code runs live on the factory floor. You'll see it work in cut metal shipping out the door to real customers building real parts for American manufacturing.
This is not a role where you sit behind a monitor and push tickets. You are on the floor with machine operators, understanding how material moves, where jobs get stuck, and what needs to be built next. You talk to customers. You see their orders hit the saw. You watch your software make it faster.
You own what you build. The systems you create become the foundation for how every Nox facility operates. What you ship in LA becomes the playbook we scale across the country.
What You'll Do
Build and own systems for quoting, scheduling, procurement, and machine operations
Deploy code into a live factory where it has immediate physical impact
Develop internal tools for automation, planning, and material tracking across multiple alloys
Build customer-facing tools for quoting, ordering, and visibility
Work daily with machine operators and customers to find bottlenecks and ship solutions
Shape the technical foundation that scales from this facility to every facility after it
What We're Looking For
Full-stack development ability
You ship fast. Ambiguity is where you do your best work.
You want to build at the intersection of software and physical operations
You create systems from zero, not inherit them
You want your code to move real things, not render pixels
You don't wait for a spec. You figure out what needs to exist and you build it.
Why This Role
First software engineer at a new multi-material factory. You're building it.
Equity role. You own what you build.
Your systems become the operating system for American metals processing.
Your software ships metal to factories across the country. Every day.
