As a Software Engineer on our Point of Sale (POS) team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust POS software solutions that support seamless and secure transaction processing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and QA testers, to deliver high-quality applications that meet business and customer needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, optimizing system performance, and ensuring smooth integration between POS software and hardware components. Your contributions will also include conducting code reviews, developing comprehensive test plans, and maintaining clear technical documentation to support ongoing development and operational excellence.

Your Impact

  • Create, modify, and maintain software applications for POS systems to ensure efficient and reliable transaction processing
  • Work closely with product managers, QA testers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality POS solutions
  • Identify, diagnose, and fix bugs or performance issues in POS software
  • Ensure seamless communication between POS software and hardware devices such as scanners, printers, and payment terminals
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS) for payment processing and data security
  • Enhance the speed, reliability, and scalability of POS applications to handle high transaction volumes
  • Review code written by team members to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices
  • Create automated and manual tests to validate POS functionality and reliability
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for POS software, including architecture, APIs, and user guides

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of software engineering experience
  • 1+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing and creating complex SQL statements and stored procedures with SQL Server
  • 1+ years of experience with Ansible and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerShell or similar scripting language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3 years' experience developing and supporting enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of infrastructure related systems client/server, workstations, servers, networks, and database
  • Experience supporting retail applications
  • Knowledge of PCI and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience working with Ansible
  • Experience working with Kubernetes
  • Experience working with technologies such as ArgoCD and SUSE Rancher
  • Experience with source control (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, TFS)
  • Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadlines
