Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer – Web Services in Irving, Texas.

Essential Responsibilities:

Job Duties: The Software Engineer – Web Services will take responsibility of the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles; create, maintain and execute automated test plans to ensure code is reliable and meets quality standards; follow agile scrum guidelines; create application using Node.js libraries; designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products; taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; developing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment; consistently creating optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considering scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs; performing analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements; Python development; explore and implement Gen AI capabilities in customer-facing solutions; making sound design/coding decisions; taking feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards; conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures; accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; ensure security and compliance; and, assist in troubleshooting and resolving production incident tickets, working to maintain system performance and reliability. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer and Information Science plus 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer and Information Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.

Required Skills/Experience:

Must possess 3 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with each of the following: Involved in analysis, design, development, system testing and user acceptance testing of software development life cycle; Successfully followed Agile scrum guidelines to achieve faster and iterative delivery of the software to production environments; Utilizing AWS Lambda for designing and deploying serverless functions for backend processing and event-driven architectures; Working with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring logs, creating custom metrics, and setting up alerts to ensure high system availability; Working with Amazon Lex Bot and AWS Connect for integrated intelligent IVR and chatbot systems for automated customer support workflows; Exploring and implementing Gen AI capabilities in customer-facing solutions using AWS Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker; Working with Amazon Q, the new GenAI-powered assistant for developers and IT professionals; Creating Jenkins Pipeline by developing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment, using Bash, Groovy, and Python scripts; Working on Python Development through building scalable APIs, automation scripts, and backend services; Working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation for resource provisioning and environment setup; Ensuring security and compliance by leveraging AWS Secrets Manager, IAM roles/policies, and KMS for secure credential management and data protection; Working with Amazon Bedrock for quickly building and scaling GenAI apps using foundation models from leading providers; Utilizing AWS AppFabric for enterprise SaaS integration and data visibility; Utilizing EventBridge Scheduler, a scalable, serverless scheduler to automate tasks without managing cron jobs; and Working on Graviton Processors for cost-effective, high-performance computing. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
