Job Description

Open Distribution is a newly formed area within StubHub’s Product and Technology organization, focused on building the future of partner inventory synchronization. As a SDE II- (Backend) on the Content Right Holder Tooling team, you’ll build 0 to 1 AI-driven robust core services, API’s, data flows, and distributed systems to drive automation and intelligent workflows using OpenAI and Claude.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – Century City, CA
What You'll Do:

Build Backend and Agentic AI Services

  • Implement and evolve backend services and agentic systems that support content right holder workflows, automation, and intelligent decision-making.
  • Enable AI-Powered Workflows - Integrate AI-driven capabilities, such as automated validation, diagnostics, recommendations, or guided workflows through backend services and supporting APIs.

Continuously improving our Platform

  • Work with Distributed and Data-Driven Systems- Contribute to services that handle data ingestion, synchronization, and processing at scale, with a focus on correctness and resilience.
  • Translate Product Requirements into End-to-End Functionality- Convert product concepts into working systems, collaborating across frontend and backend boundaries to deliver cohesive features.
  • Ensure Reliability and Operability- Build systems that are observable, debuggable, and resilient, and help improve how the platform behaves in real-world conditions.

What You've Done: 

  • Software Engineer with ~3-4 of experience building production software, with a strong emphasis on frontend or full-stack development
  • Backend Engineering Proficiency- Experience with at least one backend programming language (Java, Python, Golang) and have experience building or consuming APIs.
  • Exposure to AI or Agentic Systems- Familiarity with integrating AI-powered services, automation, or agent-like workflows, or strong interest in learning and applying these patterns.
  • Systems and Data Mindset- Have an understanding of how data flows through services and how design decisions affect performance, reliability, and user experience.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
