Role summary: As a Software Engineer III, you will contribute to the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will manage project requirements, support continuous integration and deployment, and mentor small engineering groups. About the team: The Transportation Technology team develops and operates a global Core Transportation Management System that connects operators and partners across carriers and geographies. The team builds scalable, resilient platforms embedding intelligent workflows to simplify complex logistics and automate operations. With end-to-end ownership from foundational systems to user-facing tools, the team enables a sophisticated supply chain focused on performance, speed, and reliability. Operating at the intersection of software engineering and transportation expertise, the team drives continuous innovation to deliver impactful technology solutions worldwide. What you'll do:- Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to define high-level designs during project discovery phases.
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality code aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
- Manage complex projects by translating requirements into technical solutions and ensuring timely delivery.
- Support users by providing technical guidance and identifying sustainable solutions.
- Mentor small engineering teams, providing documentation, direction, and oversight.
- Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance development and monitoring processes.
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and full stack development across multiple platforms.
- Strong technical acumen with experience in API design, platform development, and component services.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features using iterative and incremental development methodologies.
- Proficiency in debugging, dev testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
- Skilled in documentation-based coding and implementing telemetry for performance monitoring.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and develop effective action plans.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including generative artificial intelligence.
