Plan, lead, and coordinate the remanufacturing workforce to ensure efficient execution of the production plan and manufacturing activities, maintain a safe work environment, produce high-quality work, support continuous improvement efforts, and deliver products on time to our customers. This position is a working team lead as well as responsible for training/mentoring team members.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

Production Management (50%)

  • Maintain a presence on the shop floor to support employees, promote performance to established standards and resolve problems as they occur.
  • Promote a safe work environment, compliance with safety standards and prompt accident reporting.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work orders maximizing productivity to achieve production goals.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to quality standards, production time standards and work instructions.
  • Foster employee engagement, manage employee performance and provide employee coaching and development.
  • Work closely with Production Supervisor to troubleshoot or optimize processes.
  • Interpret specifications, SOP's and company policies & procedures to staff.
  • Work with other supervisors and managers to coordinate work in the department and between departments.
  • Work with Production Supervisor to troubleshoot quality issues and new products production kickoff.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance.
  • Execute production control tasks in ERP system as required, including work order packet creation, production tracking, inventory discrepancy resolution and work order audits.
  • Ensure proper care and condition of all Sonnax tools and equipment.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Promotes a quality-driven environment by motivating and empowering production team members.
  • Responsible for communications, daily monitoring and achieving production goals for safety, quality, delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Assure safety policies and operating practices are implemented, identify deficiencies, and take corrective action as necessary including monitoring proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for assessing team member performance and corrective action as needed.
  • Train and develop team members to increase flexibility of production workforce.
  • Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures to optimize efficiency and cut operations costs.
  • Perform additional functions as requested by management.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma and/or 3-year work experience in related field. Associate degree is a plus.
  • Some ERP system knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of computers; specifically, experience in Microsoft Office is preferable.

Physical Demands:

  • No restrictions on wearing required PPE for area, including safety eyewear and steel toed shoes.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to chemicals and unusual elements, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
