Job Title: Scrap Yard Hand / Scrap SorterLocation: Tulsa, OKReports To: Yard Supervisor / Operations ManagerEmployment Type: Full timeHours: Mon - Fri 8-5Pay: $15 per hour

Job SummaryThe Scrap Yard Hand / Sorter is responsible for sorting, handling, and processing scrap materials in a fast-paced outdoor industrial environment. This role supports daily yard operations by ensuring materials are properly identified, sorted, and prepared for processing or shipment while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Key ResponsibilitiesSort and separate scrap materials by type (ferrous, non-ferrous, aluminum, copper, steel, etc.)Identify materials using visual inspection, magnets, and basic toolsAssist with loading and unloading customer and company vehiclesOperate basic hand tools and yard equipment safelyKeep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazardsFollow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company proceduresCommunicate with supervisors regarding material quality or safety concernsAssist with general labor tasks as needed

Required Skills & QualificationsAbility to perform physical labor for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50lbsComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsBasic knowledge of metals and scrap materials (or willingness to learn)Strong attention to detailDependable, punctual, and safety-mindedAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, or industrial settingExperience using magnets, torches, shears, or other yard toolsForklift or heavy equipment experience (not required)
