Job Description
The Sourcing Specialist supports the Supply Chain Management department by leading and executing sourcing activities while also assisting with Value Analysis (VA) processes, with a strong emphasis on driving Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contract compliance. This role is responsible for identifying sourcing opportunities, negotiating pricing, analyzing pricing and utilization data, capturing and conveying total cost of ownership, and helping to ensure Hospital purchases align with GPO and other contracting strategies. The Sourcing Specialist works under the guidance of the Value Analysis Manager and regularly collaborates with Purchasing, Inventory Control, clinical and non-clinical stakeholders throughout the Hospital, and external vendors/suppliers to ensure the Hospital obtains high-quality products at the best overall value. This role is designed for an individual with foundational supply chain knowledge who is ready to develop deeper expertise in healthcare sourcing, supplier coordination, and data-driven decision-making.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Prior experience in healthcare supply chain, sourcing, purchasing, contracting, value analysis, or a related role preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of healthcare purchasing, sourcing workflows, and supplier relationship management, with the ability to apply basic sourcing principles in day-to-day activities.
- Understands the purpose and structure of value analysis and effectively supports product evaluations, trials, and data collection in alignment with clinical, financial, and operational priorities.
- Demonstrates awareness of GPO contracts and organizational sourcing standards and consistently follows established compliance requirements.
- Collects, reviews, and interprets pricing, utilization, and spend data to support sourcing decisions and identify standardization or savings opportunities.
- Maintains accurate records, documentation, and system entries related to contracts, vendors, and sourcing initiatives.
- Works effectively with clinicians, department leaders, and internal supply chain partners to gather requirements, respond to inquiries, and support sourcing initiatives.
- Communicates professionally with vendors and suppliers, managing routine requests, documentation, and follow-ups while escalating issues appropriately.
- Follows established sourcing, value analysis, and procurement processes consistently and meets deadlines with minimal oversight.
- Identifies basic sourcing or contract issues, evaluates options, and recommends practical solutions within defined guidelines.
- Uses ERP/MMIS systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools effectively to support sourcing, implementation, and analysis.

Pay Range:
- Hourly, Non-Exempt Position
- $17.61 - $27.00
