JOB DESCRIPTION:
General Purpose
Train, supervise and actively participate in all the food productions areas of the kitchen, in order to maintain our high standards of quality.
Essential Duties
- Assume leadership role in the kitchen in the Executive Chefs absence.
- Coordinate, plan, and supervise production, preparation, and presentation for dishes at the restaurant
- Ensures the food quality and selection consistently meets Reikart House and Jazzboline Restaurant Standars
- Maintains safety and sanitary standards
- Recommends and implements procedural and production changes.
- Monitors food and labor costs.
- Train new ambassadors in all procedures
Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred or 4 years related industry experience
Requirements
- 2 years leadership experience in similar role
- 4 years line cook/culinary experience
- Strong ability to work in a team environment
- Prior experience in high volume food production
- Basic knife skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Basic food safety knowledge
- Ability to take direction
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time including bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching
- Able to lift 30lbs or more
- Ability to move rapidly in a hot environment
- Hazards include cuts from broken glass, hot kitchen tools, metal cans, slipping and tripping.'
