Job Description

Harvest Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving PreK-12. HPA is dedicated to providing students a dynamic academic program of student centered instruction in a college preparatory setting. We are currently accepting applications/resumes for the position of Special Education Paraprofessional for our San Luis campus.

DUTIES:

  • Implements the directions and meet the needs of the teacher in a timely manner.
  • Makes sure all necessary instructional materials are prepared and the classroom is ready for the next school day before leaving the school building at the end of the day.
  • Provides assistance to students who need help getting on and off of the school bus or into the building.
  • Monitors the playground and lunchroom.
  • Coordinates the distribution of students who leave the special education classroom to participate in related services or in the regular classroom.
  • Ensures class records, reports and student files are completed accurately, organized and maintained in a manner that supports ease of access.
  • Perform related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one (1) year related experience.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
