Job Description
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, located in Ellicott City, Maryland, is seeking a fullâtime, qualified Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic school year.
The Special Education Resource Teacher leads a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to meeting the needs of every student within a diverse learning community. In partnership with classroom teachers and school administration, this role provides both inâclass support and pullâout instruction for students who require additional assistance or enrichment.
Key responsibilities include maintaining clear communication with families and staff, managing documentation and records, and serving on two student support teams. This position requires a strong understanding of special education guidelines, instructional strategies, and best practices for supporting a wide range of learners.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate the Student Advocacy Team's instructional efforts.
- Work with individual and small groups of students in and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain records of student progress
- Coordinate with classroom teachers and school administrators.
- As a leader of the Student Advocacy Team; help to identify students needing assistance or challenge work and provide resources.
- Supervise the implementation of student accommodation plans.
- Provide support to teachers of students with accommodations.
- Provide support and resources to English language learners.
- Maintain student records for interventions.
- Develop and review student accommodation plans annually.
- Meet with parents to discuss student accommodations and progress.
Position Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Passion for helping students.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to research resources and best practices.
- Ability to organize and coordinate team efforts.
- Understanding of language acquisition.
- Special education teaching experience needed; preferably at least 3 years of experience.
- MSDE Certification in Special Education.
Pay Range: $45,000 – 55,000, Annualized
