Job Description

Special Education Paraprofessional – DeafBlind Intervener | ISD 728 Elementary

$22.08+ per hour | 10-month schedule | Starts 2026-2027 school year

Make a real difference in one student's world, every single day.

ISD 728 is looking for a patient, compassionate paraprofessional to work one-on-one with a deafblind elementary student. As an intervener, you'll be this student's bridge to the world around them, supporting communication, mobility, and access to everything the school day offers.

What you'll do:

Support one student individually with communication, sensory access, and mobility
Help deliver instruction based on the student's IEP, guided by special education teachers
Use sign language and visual supports to connect the student to lessons and activities
Assist with daily living needs like feeding and personal care
Track progress and celebrate wins as part of a collaborative team

What you need:

High school diploma or GED
Minnesota paraprofessional requirements (Associate's degree, 60 college credits, or passing ParaPro score)
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

We'll train you. No intervener experience? We offer a paid six-weekend DeafBlind Intervener training program. Sign language skills or experience with special needs students are a plus, not a requirement.
