Job Position: Special Education Teacher 2026-27 School YearLocation: Joliet, IL 60435Pay Rate: W2, hourly;starting at $50/hour (based on experience)Position Overview:Birch Agency is s seeking a committed a Special Education Teacher to support 6th 8th grade students with a focus on physical, behavioral, social, and emotional needs. This role is ideal for educators experienced in behavioral intervention and CPI techniques, or those eager to grow in this area.Required Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement.
- Experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred.
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with student IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP accommodations and modifications
- Support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Utilize effective classroom management and instructional strategies
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
