This is an incredible opportunity to work with middle and high school students who require intensive emotional and behavioral support in a collaborative, innovative, and therapeutic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students whose primary eligibility area is Emotional Disability
- Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies
- Monitor, evaluate, and assess student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Serve as the IEP Case Manager for assigned students
- Foster positive student growth using:
- Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI)
- Circle of Courage framework
- Competency-based learning models
- Create individualized learning pathways tailored to student needs
- Promote a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
Phoenix Academy is a highly specialized program operated under the direction of the Leyden Area Special Education Cooperative. The program serves middle and high school students whose emotional and behavioral needs require a more intensive level of support than available within their home districts.
