Special Education Teacher (Resource Room) - Eastpointe, MIJob Position: Special Education TeacherLocation: Eastpointe, MIDescriptionBirch Agency is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join a school in Eastpointe, Michigan for the current school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive educational team while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs.We currently have multiple openings serving students in either Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (K-2) or 3rd through 5th Grade (3-5) resource room programs.Position Details

- Elementary Resource Room Assignment
- Multiple openings available:
- K-2 Resource Room
- 3-5 Resource Room
- Caseload: Approximately 10-14 students
- Dedicated paraprofessional support provided
- Full-time position
- In-person assignment

- Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students in an elementary resource room setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation of goals and objectives.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and success.
- Work closely with a classroom paraprofessional to support student learning and achievement.
- Support students who spend the majority of their instructional day in the resource room while participating in general education settings for specials and select academic subjects.
- Active Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Previous school-based experience preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
