Boothby Therapy Services is hiring multiple Special Education Teachers for full-time, school-based positions in Belfast, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year.

We are partnering with local schools to fill a variety of special education caseloads across grade levels and student populations. Special Education Teacher Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary slightly depending on placement and student population, but may include:

  • Provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and academic standards
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, communication, social-emotional, and functional needs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
  • Foster supportive, inclusive learning environments for all students

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education (minimum)
  • Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
  • Experience working with special education students in school-based settings preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
