Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. This is a CONTRACT position. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing tailored instructional support and interventions to students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment. This role involves developing and implementing Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Goals, progress monitoring, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each student’s academic, emotional, and social growth, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering students with disabilities, skilled in differentiated instruction, and dedicated to creating a positive impact on their educational journey.
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Create and adapt lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and support for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP compliance.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions to stay current with best practices in special education.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide behavioral support and interventions as necessary.
Physical/Environment:
  • Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as required, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as: standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away; fine finger and hand manipulation in the use of a computer, chalkboard, and/or dry erase.
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Work during the hours of 7:45am-3:15pm Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (Required)
  • PA Teaching Certification (Required)
  • PA Special Education Certification (Required)
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance (Current within 1 year)
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance (Current within 1 year)
  • PA Department of Education Federal Criminal History Report (FBI)- (Current within 5 years)
  • PA Arrest Conviction Form (Act 24) Clearance (Current within 1 year)
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, 504 plans, and other relevant laws/regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to keep concise records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to be flexible with teaching assignments.
  • Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Compensation: $45.00 per hour
