Job Description
- Hours: Flexible start times (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM) with a typical end time around 3:00 PM.
- Student Population: Preschool-age children (3–5 years old) within an Early Intervention setting.
- Interview Process: Initial screening with Jake or Audrey, followed by a formal interview (virtual or in-person) with the school administration.
- Instructional Delivery: Provide high-quality, differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals and curriculum standards in the absence of the lead teacher.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with paraprofessionals, special education staff, and related service providers to maintain continuity of care and support.
- Behavioral Leadership: Implement effective behavior management strategies and support students in both academic and functional life skills.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, daily attendance, and classroom activities.
- Safety & Culture: Uphold school policies to promote a respectful, safe, and positive classroom culture.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Type 06 Permit (Day-to-Day) or ideally a Type 04 Permit (Long-Term Substitute).
- Experience: Prior teaching experience in special education or inclusive classrooms is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong understanding of IEP accommodations, modifications, and classroom management.
- PA State Clearances: PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Check, and FBI Fingerprints.
- Health & Safety: Valid CPR/First Aid (with hands-on component) and a TB Test (within 3 months).
- Training & Reports: Mandated Reporter Training, Act 82 Arrest/Conviction Form, and completed Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Releases.
