Job Description
We are looking for a passionate Special Education Teacher to become part of our dedicated team at Berkshire Meadows! Our program offers services within a residential, special education, and day habilitation setting to children and adults with severe developmental disabilities, including substantial cognitive, physical, and medical disabilities.
In this role, you will teach students with autism and complex special needs in a warm, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be caring, compassionate, consistent and reliable with a desire to make a difference in the life of individuals with limited communication, physical and cognitive skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate must demonstrate teamwork skills and effectively collaborate across departments while fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Some Flexibility)
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $94,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of annual student Individualized Educational Program (IEP).
- Provide evidence-based instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP.
- Assess student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
- Coordinate the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.
- Create a positive learning experience with emphasis on individualized instruction.
- Conduct special education evaluations and reevaluations.
- Provide direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed.
- Develop and prepare instructional materials.
- Complete all required assessments and reports per State and Federal guidelines.

Requirements:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- MA DESE License in Special Education. We can consider candidates who are in the process of obtaining their license and will provide supervision and training to enhance your professional skills. Out-of-state certifications will also be taken into account.
- Candidates who hold a current CPR certification are preferred. Training will be provided if necessary!
- The ability to work independently is required.
- Maintains valid driver’s license.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
