ABOUT THIS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER JOB
This position follows a consistent full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please note that we do not offer part-time employment for this role.
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering instruction that supports the individual needs of each student. You will plan and implement purposeful lessons aligned with district objectives, manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and apply differentiated instruction strategies to enhance student learning. Each day, you will create a structured classroom environment conducive to academic and behavioral success. You will collaborate with paraprofessionals, parents, and staff, and provide regular assessments to monitor and adapt student progress. Your role will also include curriculum development, classroom management, professional growth activities, and maintaining compliance with school policies.
Would you excel in this position? Here's what you need:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid State of Florida teaching certificate
- Status of Eligibility, Temporary Teacher Certification, or Professional Licensure
- Experience planning IEPs and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of child development and instructional best practices
- Commitment to professional development and student success
- Ability to manage tasks, prioritize goals, and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using technology and alternative communication tools
Reading, ESOL, and ESE endorsements are preferred. An ESE certification is also a plus.
