As a K–4 school-based Special Education Teacher in Winnetka, Illinois, your days will include:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a K–4 resource classroom.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs.
- Adapt lessons, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to support student learning.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction and IEP goals.
- Support students’ academic, social, and behavioral development.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings.
Job Details
- Position: One on-site contract opening in an elementary school resource setting
- Hours: 35.75 paid hours per week, Monday–Friday; 30-minute unpaid lunch daily
- Caseload: Kindergarten–4th grade; 8–10 students
- Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:15 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Friday: 8:15 a.m.–3:45 p.m.
- Assignment: ASAP through the end of the school year
- Interviews: Virtual, anticipated within 24–48 hours
- Work Setting: On-site; remote and hybrid assignments are unavailable
Successful Candidates Possess
- An Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement (required)
- Education and training in special education
- Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)
- The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
- Note: New graduates may be considered
