Position Overview
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve academic, social, and behavioral success through individualized instruction and targeted support.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Providing specialized instruction based on students' unique learning needs
- Modifying curriculum and classroom materials to support student achievement
- Monitoring progress and maintaining required documentation
- Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes growth and independence
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS1 Endorsement required
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Strong understanding of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering positive outcomes for all students
