Position Overview
Phaxis Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a school-based opportunity in the Gardner, MA area for the 2026–2027 school year.
This role will support elementary students in a social-emotional/behavioral substantially separate classroom. This is a strong fit for a teacher who is comfortable supporting students with intensive needs, behavior plans, emotional regulation, and individualized instruction.
Role Details
• Grade Level: Elementary• Setting: Social-emotional/behavioral substantially separate classroom• Location: Gardner, MA area• Contract: 2026–2027 school year• Schedule: Full-time• Caseload: Based on classroom and student needs
Responsibilities May Include
• Providing IEP-driven instruction aligned with student goals• Supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs• Creating a structured, supportive classroom environment• Collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and school teams• Implementing accommodations, modifications, and behavior strategies• Tracking student progress and maintaining required documentation• Participating in IEP meetings and team collaboration as needed
Requirements
• Active Massachusetts DESE Special Education license required• Moderate Disabilities PK–8 or Severe Disabilities preferred• Experience with elementary students preferred• Experience in substantially separate, behavioral, or therapeutic settings is a plus• Strong classroom management and communication skills• Must be comfortable working onsite
