About the RoleHello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Self-Contained Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Anniston, AL. In this role, you’ll provide specialized instruction and individualized support to students in a structured self-contained classroom. You’ll collaborate with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary team members while ensuring students receive instruction aligned with their IEP goals and individual needs.

What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction across academic, behavioral, and functional domains
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and individual needs
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Create and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment
- Utilize differentiated instructional and behavior-support strategies
- Collaborate with and provide classroom direction to 2 paraprofessionals
- Support students with functional and daily living skills as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation
What We’re Looking For
- Hold or be eligible for Alabama Collaborative Special Education Teacher K–6 certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
- Experience or knowledge supporting students with intensive or individualized support needs
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Self-contained or school-based experience preferred, not required
