About the RoleHello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Anniston, AL. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by providing specialized instruction and support to Pre-K and Kindergarten students, collaborating with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. This is a great fit for both seasoned special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction and support for Pre-K and Kindergarten students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive classroom settings
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Differentiate instruction based on individual developmental and educational needs
  • Support positive behavior, functional skills, and student engagement
  • Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation

What We’re Looking For

  • Hold or be eligible for Alabama Early Childhood Special Education P–3 certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Experience or knowledge supporting young children with disabilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • School-based or early childhood special education experience preferred, not required
