Job Description

Location/Schedule: Byron, GA / 1st shift

Requirements

What You’ll Do: 

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of the Special Projects Fabricator I role at a consistent and acceptable level.  
  • Fabricate and weld complex, non-standard, or short-run projects as assigned. 
  • Perform welding using multiple processes, including:  

MIG  

Arc Welding 

Flux Core  

Metal Core  

TIG (as required)  

  • Weld aluminum and steel components to higher complexity and tighter quality standards.  
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.  
  • Perform complex material layout, fit-up, and preparation independently. Including cutting metal and forming.  
  • Independently set up welding equipment and select appropriate processes and consumables.  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication and welding issues with minimal supervision.  
  • Lead or support special project work from start to completion.  
  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to Special Projects Fabricator I employees.  
  • Maintain high quality standards with minimal rework.  
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and shop policies.  
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. 

Who You Are: 

  • 3-5 years of welding and fabrication experience or successful completion of Special Projects Fabricator I.  
  • Proficiency in three welding processes (MIG, Flux Core, Metal Core, or TIG).  
  • Ability to read basic blueprints or fabrication drawings.  
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with limited supervision.  
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and attention to quality.  
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and leadership behaviors.  
  • Ability to provide guidance and technical support to less experienced fabricators.
