Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Records payment of all delivery expenses to proper accounts and prepares voucher, subject to approval by Transportation Services Supervisor or authorized person. (Regional as well as National)
  • Maintains daily record and bills of lading of all inbound and outbound shipments. (Regional as well as National)
  • Prepares and distributes monthly financial reports, subject to approval of Transportation Supervisor and/or Manager. (Regional as well as National)
  • Prepares order count reports monthly and by Campaign. (Regional as well as National)
  • Collects and analyzes data from all US Transportation departments that is critical to establishing the direction of the National Transportation Organization. Notifies management of any risks and opportunities.
  • Analyzes monthly variances by account for use by the Department Manager. (Regional as well as National)
  • Gathers, computes, analyzes, and maintains information for the department, including freight bills, KPI data, delivery company performance indicators, and surveys.
  • Assigns account code(s) for each Branch freight bill, assuring correct account and department are charged. Corrects any discrepancies with appropriate parties and assigns account codes accordingly.
  • Maintains records for District Manager/Emergency shipments, charging Branch or Division accounts as appropriate.
  • Prepares Monthly Flash, Profit Plan, and OMF upon request (Regional as well as National).
  • Analyzes profitability of proprietary (Avon) and package delivery programs (Regional as well as National)
  • Follows safety policies and maintains good housekeeping in work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year experience processing invoices in a Transportation or Accounts Payable environment preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of purchased finished goods, vendor finished goods and vendor items to accomplish accurate allocations.
  • Must pass Windows, Word and Excel at Level II.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access a plus.
  • Ability to access, analyze and interpret computerized information in a database.
  • Ability to operate office machines, such as copier, printer, and fax machine.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and take initiative on specific issues.
  • Ability to prioritize handling of situations.
  • Must have a positive attitude.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of computer keyboards/terminal.
  • Performs repetitive data entry functions.
  • Occasional periods of extended sitting.
  • Telephone usage of approximately three to five hours per day.
  • Must be able to sit, listen, talk, and write.

Work Environment:

Typical office environment- Some dust, noise, etc. from typical plant environment.
