Job Description
The Specialist – Inventory Control is responsible for supporting accurate perpetual inventory through analysis, reporting, and process execution. This role creates and reviews reports to identify trends or issues and helps ensure inventory discrepancies are resolved appropriately. The Specialist analyzes and reconciles inventory transactions, coordinates physical inventory activities, and supports cycle counting processes. They assist in investigating variances over defined thresholds and contribute to developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as monitoring compliance with established processes.
Essential Job Responsibilities
· Process and ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions, including transfers, movements, and adjustments.
· Support the resolution of inventory issues, including movements and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
· Partner with Senior Accountant to assist in reconciling Acctivate with QuickBooks.
· Collaborate cross-functionally on inventory control activities, investigations, warehouse SOPs, documentation, reporting, and projects, including proactive follow-up and communication.
· Assist in coordinating the physical inventory process to help ensure accurate counts and support improvement efforts based on results.
· Perform and/or coordinate monthly cycle counts to monitor inventory accuracy between system and physical counts.
· Support audits of material disposal due to spoilage or age, ensuring proper transactions are completed.
· Monitor and track chargebacks related to warehouse shortages and customer compliance requirements.
· Assist in monitoring 3PL warehouse partner performance and processes.
· Identify and support process improvement opportunities to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Excellent management, analytical and organizational skills.
· Familarity with food manufacturing industry, preferred.
· Reporting.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience with (windows), Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
· Willingness to learn the technical aspect of the products
· Highly organized, self-starter able to set and follow priorities and manage multiple projects.
· Ability and desire to act both hands on over with small or non-matured environments if needed and with a more strategic way when possible.
