Job Description

Neuberger's focus on Enterprise Data Governance is rooted in its commitment to enabling smart, data-driven decisions that uphold the firm's core principles. Effective governance ensures data is high quality, well-understood, and readily available to support informed decision-making across the organization. This role owns account data quality, controls, and process discipline across the account lifecycle - onboarding, fund launches, transitions, terminations, exception monitoring/resolution, and technology implementation.

This is a hands-on role requiring day-to-day data maintenance work, including researching and resolving data exceptions and breaks across systems (e.g., trading platforms, Data Warehouses, Visualization Systems, and Golden Sources), and working directly with data owners to align fields and definitions across systems. The role has a growth path toward broader ownership of account lifecycle processes and offshore workflow oversight as the function matures over 1-3 years.

Responsibilities

Data Quality & Exception Resolution

  • Manually investigate and resolve mismatched account data across systems, working directly with data owners to align fields and definitions.

  • Download and review data exceptions daily; and reach out to account owners to resolve breaks.

Account Onboarding & Data Setup

  • Oversee the New Account team's daily new Aladdin account opening.

  • Submit, review and approve New Account Application (NAA) updates

  • Assist the New Account Opening team with opening Institutional, Intermediary, Subadvised, and CIT Trust accounts.

  • Manage account openings at custodian portals.

  • Maintain Aladdin data through updates in ADAM and Blackrock Portfolio Toolkit.

  • Establish consistent entity records and account reference data across systems.

Data Governance and Standards

  • Support the Account Data Steward in defining and executing the account data roadmap.

  • Define and supervise governance of critical data elements.

  • Add new Account Business Terms into Glossary+ to support enterprise data cataloging.

  • Add new rules to the Data Platform Portal, including rules that utilize lookup tables.

  • Review Data Warehouse discrepancies and drive resolution.

  • Perform ERISA and other regulatory flag controls data review.

  • Perform user access screening for account master data.

Technology Partnership & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and project manage account data enhancements across key systems and stakeholders.

  • Submit stories to technology and attend grooming sessions to shape upcoming enhancements.

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for submitted stories.

  • Submit stories for new Datactics rules to support automated exception detection.

  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects where account data is used.

Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

  • Lead a weekly account data meeting with key stakeholders to review open items and exception trends.

  • Organize the Account Owners Quarterly Discussion/Update call, providing updates on progress against the roadmap.

  • Prepare and present quarterly update for Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) leadership.

  • Partner across front office (Sales, Portfolio Management) and control teams (Operations, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Technology), and offshore teams on account data initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5-8+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with reference data, security master, or account master data.

  • Experience documenting and mapping business processes.

  • Project management and business analysis experience.

  • Strong data analysis, profiling, and discovery skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent work efforts independently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Visio (or equivalent), and PowerPoint.

  • Comfort with hands-on manual data investigation and exception resolution.

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Aladdin, Datactics, and/or VantageIQ.

  • Data governance experience in financial services.
