Job Description Summary

The Specialist Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and scaling intelligent AI & Actuarial systems in Hybrid Cloud Environment with strong focus on AWS Cloud Services. This role focuses on developing production-grade AI Applications, data engineering, APIs, and orchestration layers that enable advanced automation, deep research, and enterprise AI capabilities across the Finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead for AI and agent-based initiatives, including scoping, estimation, and architectural design of AI & Actuarial Applications.
  • Design, develop, and deploy intelligent agents usingAWS Bedrock,LangChain,Kiro,Graph DB, Strands, and related agent frameworks.
  • Build andmaintainapplications using AWSagent core framework, orchestration layers, and hierarchical agent workflows to support complex reasoning and automation use cases.
  • Develop secure, scalable APIs usingAWS LambdaandAPI Gatewayto expose AI and agent capabilities to downstream systems.
  • Implementprompt engineeringbest practices tooptimizemodel performance, accuracy, and reliability across use cases.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions and agent workflows.
  • Design and implementRAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)pipelinesleveragingvector databases and knowledge graphs.
  • Develop,Maintainand enhanceactuarial applicationswith core focus onEC2,PySpark, AWS Glue, S3, Athena and other AWS services.  
  • Monitor, evaluate, andoptimizeLLM performance, cost, latency, and reliability in production environments.
  • Support testing cycles byvalidatingAI outputs,identifyinggaps, and improving agent behavior through tuning and iteration.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, compliance, and responsible AI usage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, ora relatedfield.

  • Strong experience withPython & Sparkfor building AI, data, and agent-based applications.

  • Hands-on experience withAWS Bedrockand large language models (LLMs).

  • Experience usingLangChain, Strands, or similar agent frameworks.

  • Strong understanding ofagent core design, multi-agent systems, and orchestration patterns.

  • Experience building serverless solutions usingAWS LambdaandAPI Gateway.

  • Solid knowledge ofprompt & context engineeringtechniques and LLM optimization strategies.

  • Experience integrating LLMs with enterprise systems via APIs.

  • Build Solutions to any complex business problem using AI-Development Life Cyclemethodology.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with broader AI and agent frameworks, includinghierarchical agentsand autonomous agent architectures.
  • Familiarity withModel Context Protocol (MCP)and emerging agent interoperability standards.
  • Experience with Kiro or similar AI IDE tools for agent-assisted development workflows.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines,Infrastructure asCode (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform), and version control (Git).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, Amazon ECS, or EKS forproductionAI deployments.
  • Experience with AWS Quick Tools and AWS Frontier Agents.
  • Hands-on experience withdeep research agentsand multi-step reasoning workflows.
  • Experience implementingRAGusingVector Databases(e.g., OpenSearch, Pinecone, FAISS) andGraph Databases.
  • Exposure tomodel tuning,embeddings, and evaluation techniques.
  • Knowledge of enterprise AI governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated enterprise environments.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid-Office Environment (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)
  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required
  • Moderate Travel 10 to 25%

Compensation

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $131,000- $170,000 annuallyPlease note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Philadelphia, PA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Denver, CO).  Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
