Speech-Language Pathologist Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders*
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals*
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and document findings accurately*
- Provide therapy services to improve communication, cognition, speech production, and swallowing function*
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercises, and compensatory strategies*
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and interdisciplinary team members*
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate*
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements*
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations*
- Promote patient safety and quality care throughout the rehabilitation process
Education & Certification Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program*
- Current Montana Speech-Language Pathologist License or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date*
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred*
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred*
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and patient care skills*
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Experience Requirements
- Previous Speech-Language Pathology experience preferred*
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), and small rural healthcare facilities is a significant plus*
- Experience treating geriatric, neurological, cognitive, and dysphagia patient populations preferred*
- Previous rehabilitation, post-acute care, or skilled nursing experience highly desirable*
- Knowledge of swallowing evaluations, cognitive assessments, and speech-language treatment interventions preferred
