Job Description
STS Technical Services is hiring a Split Shift Weld Supervisor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Due to continued growth, our client has an immediate opening for a Split Shift Weld Supervisor to lead a skilled welding and fabrication team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in driving quality, efficiency, and team development.
Split Shift Hours: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Thursday
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily activities of MIG welders and fabricators, delegating job responsibilities to the appropriate employees
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to meet demanding manufacturing requirements and production schedules
- Assist with tasks as necessary to complete assignments accurately and on time
- Test products and equipment for defects or malfunctions and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company standards and procedures
- Communicate process updates, procedural changes, and quality expectations to all team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility on the shop floor
- Proven ability to measure, compare, and perform complex shop calculations to ensure compliance with engineering and sales specifications
- Previous experience working with and reading blueprints required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing production demands
- Prior experience working with steel materials is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and motivating shop floor employees to meet quality and delivery goals
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting customer expectations
