What You'll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Sports and Athletics (including but not limited to General Fitness, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Ping Pong, Pickleball) to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Boston. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks.

• As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:• Develop age-appropriate Sports and Athletics curriculum for after-school students• Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise• Establish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged• Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels• Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment• Track student growth and offer positive, helpful feedback• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach• Create a memorable experience for the children in your class

Who You Are

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:Has subject matter expertise in Sports and AthleticsHas a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kidsHas excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learningKnows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environmentBrings your own voice and creativity to each class you teachIs cooperative, supportive, flexibleIs dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations
$90 - $120 an hour
Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one.
