Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sports Court Painter to partner with our commercial flooring and coatings division on athletic and recreational surface projects. They will be responsible for the layout, preparation, and precise application of paint and coatings for indoor and outdoor sports courts, including basketball, tennis, pickleball, and multipurpose courts.

This role requires accuracy, craftsmanship, and familiarity with athletic surface standards. You must provide your own tools, equipment, and transportation, and are expected to perform work according to project specifications, safety standards, and agreed timelines.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities

Prepare athletic surfaces, including cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming prior to paint application.
Perform accurate court layout and line marking based on supplied drawings or regulation standards
Apply acrylic, epoxy, or polyurethane paint systems using rollers, brushes, or spray equipment.
Mix and match paints to achieve specified colors and finishes.
Install logos, lettering, and custom markings per project specifications.
Maintain job site cleanliness and adhere to company safety requirements at all times.
Communicate project progress, completion, and material needs to the Project Manager or Superintendent.
Deliver completed work that meets or exceeds quality expectations and manufacturer standards.

Requirements

Proven experience painting or coating sports courts, gym floors, or similar surfaces.
Understanding of coatings, surface prep, and line layout techniques.
Must provide all necessary hand tools, painting tools, and basic PPE.
Ability to read blueprints or layout diagrams.
Reliable transportation to and from project sites.

Ability to work outdoors and lift/move materials up to 50 lbs.
Must comply with all jobsite safety policies and OSHA requirements.
