Job Description
Position OverviewProvide high quality instruction, leadership, and mentorship to participants in the Crafton Sportsman Complex program to provide participants with knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to Range and Target Activities, Firearm Safety, Wildlife Management, Conservation and Hunter Education.Key ResponsibilitiesOversees implementation of the Crafton Sportsman Complex program including staff training and schedules.Provide periodic written performance evaluations / coaching for direct reports Operates, manages, and instructs on indoor simulation range and provides coaching for firearm techniques.Present and teach in front of 20-40 people and clearly transfer knowledge
Assist in the startup, shutdown and maintenance of the Skills Center facilities and equipment. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
QualificationsMinimum age: 18+Preferred: NRA Instructor (Rifle/Shotgun) and USA Archery Level 2 Instructor / Trainer (training provided)Preferred: Knowledge and/or experience in hunting, hunting laws, conservation, wildlife agencies (training provided)Computer literacy and ability to use MS Office presentation software
Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
