Job Description

Position SummaryTuacahn Amphitheatre is seeking a seasonal Spotlight Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a theatrical setting, with a strong knowledge of lighting systems, rigging, and special effects equipment. Must know basic lighting design and programming. Responsibilities will include setting up, operating, and shutting down spotlights for live performances, as well as troubleshooting technical issues as needed. We are looking for a collaborative, dependable professional eager to work with a team.

Responsibilities

Operate a spotlight for the outdoor Broadway Season

Follow instructions given by the Head Spotlight Operator.

Be able to understand and execute provided cue sheets

Assist with work calls and installations during technical rehearsals

Maintain flexible schedule for work calls especially during tech weeks

Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and maintain a safe work environment

Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned.

Required Qualifications

Ability to collaborate with the lighting team to efficiently complete assigned projects

Ability to maintain a professional work environment that reports to the Lighting Crew Lead

Ability to work outside in a desert climate overnight

Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete assigned tasks

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Excellent communication skills

Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment

Ability to lift 40+ lbs

Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time

Must be comfortable with heights

Position Contract Dates:4/13/26 - 10/25/26(Mandatory dates: April 13th- May 23rd, July 1st- 17th)

Pay:$21/hr

2025 Shows Include:Finding Nemo, Les Miserables, Grease
