Coke Florida is searching for a Sr. Trainer, PIT and Risk to work out of Hollywood, Orlando, Jacksonville and our Tampa HQ office.

Senior Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and Risk Trainer

What You Will Do:

The Senior PIT Safety and Risk Trainer is responsible for leading the regional execution of Coke Florida's enterprise-wide Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Safety, Certification, and Risk Management Program. This role serves as the organization's subject matter expert (SME) for PIT operations, operator competency, regulatory compliance, and operational risk mitigation across manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environments.Working within an established enterprise framework, this role is accountable for implementing, governing, and continuously improving PIT safety and certification processes throughout an assigned region. The Senior Trainer will ensure the consistent application of enterprise standards while partnering with operational leaders to reduce injuries, prevent equipment and property damage, improve operator performance, and strengthen Coke Florida's safety culture.

As a Senior Trainer, you will be responsible for one of Coke Florida's four regions (North, Central, West, or South), serving as the regional owner of the enterprise PIT program and ensuring all facilities execute training, certification, recertification, auditing, and compliance requirements consistently and effectively.

You will partner closely with the Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) team, Risk Management, Human Resources, Operations, and site leadership teams to deploy enterprise-wide PIT safety standards, certification requirements, operating procedures, and risk-reduction initiatives. This role will provide regional oversight, coaching, auditing, and performance management to ensure alignment with enterprise expectations and drive continuous improvement in PIT safety performance across all assigned facilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Execute and govern Coke Florida's enterprise-wide Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety and certification program throughout an assigned region.

Partner with fellow Senior Trainers, EHSS, and operational leaders to develop and maintain enterprise PIT standards, certification requirements, operating procedures, audit protocols, and best practices.

Ensure consistent implementation and compliance with enterprise PIT safety requirements across all facilities within the assigned region.

Establish and maintain comprehensive operator qualification, certification, recertification, and competency validation processes.

Conduct facility assessments, operational audits, and field observations to evaluate compliance, identify risks, and drive corrective actions.

Assist in the investigation of PIT-related incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and property damage events using root cause analysis methodologies.

Assist with the creation of corrective action plans to improve operational performance and reduce future risk exposure.

Create governance processes and reporting mechanisms that drive accountability, consistency, and sustainable program execution.

Develop annual regional objectives, improvement strategies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with enterprise safety goals.

Develop and maintain key metrics related to:

PIT incidents

Near misses

Operator compliance

Certification completion and documentation

Equipment damage

Property damage

Training effectiveness

Develop regional scorecards, trend analyses, and performance reports that provide visibility into PIT safety performance, compliance, and risk-reduction opportunities.

Serve as the regional PIT safety SME and trusted advisor for facility leadership teams.

Conduct operator observations, and coaching sessions to reinforce safe operating practices and validate operator competency.

Educate managers and supervisors on PIT safety expectations, accountability measures, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategies.

Facilitate leadership training, safety workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on PIT safety excellence.

Support and promote existing recognition and reinforcement programs that encourage positive operational and safety behaviors.

Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness, operator engagement, and operational safety performance across the region.

Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, company standards, and recordkeeping requirements related to PIT training and certification.

Education and Skills Required:

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Risk Management, Industrial Engineering, Education or related field required

Minimum of 3 years' experience with material handling equipment

5+ years of training in classroom and 1v1 environment

Experience supporting multi-site operations in manufacturing, warehouse and distribution environments

Proven experience developing training programs, leading incident investigations and root cause analysis

Excellent written and verbal communication to include:

Proven strategic storytelling experience

Ability to influence without authority

Ability to make connections to audience at any level when speaking/presenting

Previous experience driving measurable safety improvements

Advanced knowledge of:

OSHA 29

PIT operation certification process

Risk assessment methodologies

Incident investigation techniques

Previous experience using a Learning Management System (LMS), Incident reporting platforms, and Microsoft Power BI or similar reporting tools

Previous experience developing and evaluating curriculum, competency assessments and standard operating procedures

Valid driver's license and driving record within MVR policy guidelines*

  • Major moving violations include, but are not limited to, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence, and reckless driving. Minor moving violations include, but are not limited to, speeding, driving too close, failure to stop, and improper lane changes. Driving records, including minor moving violations, will be evaluated according to Coke Florida guidelines to determine eligibility for the position.
