It's exciting to work for a company that makes the world measurably better.

We're committed to bringing safety, quality, and customer focus to the business of advanced ceramics manufacturing.

Job Title

Sr. CNC Specialist (Multiple Shifts Available)

The CNC Specialist Sr is responsible for developing, proving out, validating, and optimizing complex CNC machining processes from engineering concept through prototype, new product integration (NPI), and production-ready finished product. This role serves as an advanced CNC manufacturing process specialist with expertise in CAM programming, rapid prototyping support, NPI machining strategy development, tooling optimization, process validation, advanced metrology, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

The CNC Specialist II independently leads complex machining process development, rapid prototype prove-out, NPI production-readiness activities, and drives continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, throughput, and manufacturing capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, operate, and validate complex multi-axis CNC equipment for rapid prototyping, NPI, complex production, and process improvement work.
  • Generate, simulate, verify and optimize CAM toolpaths from engineering models and drawings for prototyping, NPI, complex parts, and production improvement applications.
  • Create, troubleshoot, optimize, and validate G-code and M-code programs.
  • Develop machining strategies including tooling, work holding, and process sequencing.
  • Perform complete machine setup, first-run prove-out, prototype iteration support, process validation and production handoff for new or significantly revised machining processes.
  • Conduct or support FAI, prototype dimensional evaluation, advanced metrology, dimensional analysis and inspection activities.
  • Lead root-cause troubleshooting and corrective action activities for complex prototype, NPI, dimensional, tooling, programming, and process capability issues.
  • Support new product integration by developing machining methods, pre-production processes, and manufacturing processes.
  • Capture prototype and NPI insights and translate them into repeatable setup methods, process parameters, inspection requirements, standard work, and production handoff documentation.
  • Analyze prototype, NPI, and production machining performance data to improve cycle times, yields, and throughput.
  • Develop and document best practices and standard work procedures.
  • Mentor machinists and CNC personnel on advanced machining practices including prototype/NPI processes, CAM/programming concepts, troubleshooting, inspection interpretation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams.
