Within Leidos’ Defense Sector, the Test Instrumentation & Lethal Mechanisms (TI&LM) Portfolio is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support multiple contracts in its Fuzing Solutions branch. This project manager will support a major defense contracting customer. This full-time position is based on site at a Leidos facility in Huntsville, AL.

The TI&LM portfolio specializes in the development and production of flight data acquisition, telemetry, and electronic fuzing products for DoD and Aerospace customers. The Fuzing Solutions branch is rapidly growing and provides design, development, fabrication and testing of Electronic Safe & Arm Fuze (ESAF) and Proximity Sensors for various customers.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The Project Manager will work with a multi-disciplined team of mechanical, software, electrical, and systems engineers.
  • Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and coordination of one or more projects that may include advanced concept and prototype development, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, test, evaluation, and advancement of cutting-edge technology.
  • Project scope & baseline management (i.e. cost, schedule, technical)
  • Regular interfacing and alignment with external customer
  • Communication and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including Manufacturing, Scheduling, Engineering, Finance, Contracts and Business Development
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Track project performance and provide regular status reports to leadership
  • Manage scope changes and ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Ensure compliance with company processes, quality standards, and contractual requirements
  • Facilitate project meetings, reviews, and post-project lessons learned
  • Risk, Issue and Opportunity identification and management
  • Proposal basis of estimate (BOE) generation and support
  • May allocate tasks to lower level PM’s on the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. Additional education, experience or training will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Huntsville Alabama; relocation is not offered for this opportunity.
  • Experience with manufacturing and defined deliverable programs.
  • Experience managing firm fixed price (FFP) programs.
  • Current or prior Defense Industry experience
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a DoD Secret clearance in the future (U.S. Citizenship is required)
  • Proactive, self-starter with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)
  • Defense Industry experience
  • Working knowledge of electromechanical assemblies and/or electronics manufacturing
  • Current and active DoD Secret clearance

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
