Job Description

Who We Are:

At OPENLANE we make wholesale easy so our customers can be more successful.

We’re a technology company building the world’s most advanced—and uncomplicated—digital marketplace for used vehicles.

We’re a data company helping customers buy and sell smarter with clear, actionable insights they can understand and use.

And we’re an innovation company accelerating the future of wholesale remarketing through curiosity, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Our Values:

Driven Waybuilders. We pursue challenges that inspire us to build, create, and innovate.

Relentless Curiosity. We seek to understand and improve our customers’ experience.

Smart Risk-Taking. We transform risk into progress through data, experience, and intuition.

Fearless Ownership. We deliver what we promise and learn along the way.

We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Product Manager to join our growing Canada Digital Marketplaces Product team. In this role, you will own highly strategic product domains that directly influence business growth, customer experience, and market differentiation.

As a senior leader within Product, you will define and drive product strategy, shape long-term roadmaps, and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution. You will deeply understand customer needs, competitive landscapes, and industry trends while leveraging technology and data to deliver measurable business outcomes.

As a company we are leaning into AI for our product development process and you need to be familiar and passionate about using this technology to create better products. Data fluency is critical in this role — from analyzing user behavior patterns to mining operational performance data and evaluating business impact.

This role:

This role leads our buyer experience for the Canadian Wholesale digital marketplace.  Our buyers are used car dealers looking to get inventory to sell to their customers. They are most often small business owners who are incredibly short on time, very sophisticated car people, but sometimes less sophisticated with technology. The success of this role is improving their customer success metrics of letting them find, bid and win car auctions as efficiently as possible. This role has a 1:1 match with a development team that works on this role’s roadmap.

You Are:

  • Strategic and Vision-Oriented You define clear product visions aligned to company objectives and translate them into executable roadmaps.

  • Customer-ObsessedYou proactively engage customers and internal stakeholders to uncover unmet needs and champion solutions that drive value.

  • Data-Driven and Outcome-FocusedYou make decisions grounded in data and measure success through clearly defined business and customer impact metrics.

  • Influential and CollaborativeYou lead through influence, align cross-functional partners, and drive clarity in complex environments.

  • Decisive and AccountableYou take ownership of outcomes and make thoughtful trade-offs that balance speed, quality, and long-term strategy.

You Will:

  • Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for key digital marketplace initiatives.

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, from discovery and validation through delivery and optimization.

  • Identify market opportunities and develop compelling business cases supported by data and customer insights.

  • Conduct deep discovery, customer research, and competitive analysis to inform product direction.

  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to evaluate technical approaches and drive high-quality execution.

  • Prioritize initiatives based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.

  • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs and success metrics tied to revenue, engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Drive executive-level communication, presenting product strategy, trade-offs, and performance insights.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on competitive dynamics and emerging marketplace trends.

  • Mentor and support other product team members as appropriate.

Who You Will Work With:

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Customer Support teams. You will also interact with senior leadership to align on strategy and performance outcomes.

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with demonstrated experience operating at a senior level.

  • Proven track record of defining, launching, and scaling high-impact digital products.

  • Experience owning complex product domains with measurable business results.

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to connect product decisions to company objectives.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

  • Experience conducting customer interviews and leading structured product discovery.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform prioritization and decision-making.

  • Deep understanding of agile product development processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.

  • Familiarity and experience with AI driven development including vibe coding and rapid prototyping.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with wholesale auction inventory and sales management systems.

  • Strong technical fluency with experience partnering closely with engineering on system design decisions.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, Lean, and Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits with employer HSA contributions (US) and FSA options (US)

  • Immediately vested 401K (US) or RRSP (Canada) with company match

  • Paid Vacation, Personal, and Sick Time

  • Paid maternity and paternity leave (US)

  • Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and AD&D (US)

  • Robust Employee Assistance Program

  • Employer paid Leap into Service Day to volunteer

  • Tuition Reimbursement for eligible programs

  • Opportunities to expand your skill set and share your knowledge across a publicly traded, global organization

  • Company culture of internal promotions, diverse career paths, and meaningful advancement
