Job Description
Join our team as a Senior Engineer in Columbus, OH, a vibrant city known for its thriving engineering community and rich cultural scene. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects in accordance with NCDOT requirements.
- Perform structural analysis and design for various types of bridge structures, including new constructions, widening, and rehabilitations.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
- Conduct field inspections and evaluations of existing bridge conditions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCDOT policies, guidelines, and industry best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of civil and engineering principles, reporting, analysis, and management of teams and projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage and train others and be a team player.

- High level of professionalism and comfort with client interaction – ability to build relationships.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree (MSCE) preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of North Carolina is required.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NCDOT projects.
- Extensive knowledge of NCDOT design standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LARSA, Merlin Dash, Leap Bridge).
- Familiarity with detailing software such as Microstation and OpenBridge is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
