Job Title: Senior QA Lead (Automation & Manual testing)

Contract to hire MUST be USC or current GC holder; no visa sponsorship at this time

Work Model: Hybrid, with the first 6 8 months fully remote
Location: Mesa, AZ; Looking for locals only initially.

Overview The Senior QA Lead is responsible for owning end to end quality across applications, leading QA strategy, guiding automation and manual testing efforts, and mentoring a team of QA engineers. This role requires a seasoned leader with deep hands on automation expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to design scalable test frameworks while driving continuous improvement across the SDLC. QA Lead with 12+ years of experience

Technologies: Selenium, Playwright, C# OR Java, TypeScript, Azure/other cloud, CI/CD Pipeline, AI code generation tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)
Skills: Strong communication, problem solving, design, ability to build and manage automation frameworks, Reviewing the PRs and mentor team members
Primary Scope: API Testing, Web Site/Application Testing, Security Testing, Batch System Testing, Performance Testing and Integration Testing, Database Testing. Leading the QA team and owning total quality.

Experience Requirements

12+ years of total QA experience
5+ years in automation testing
4+ years in QA leadership or team lead roles; managing/leading 2-4 people
12+ years Proven experience owning quality across enterprise level applications

Core Responsibilities

Lead the QA team and serve as the primary owner of total product quality.
Define, implement, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing.
Oversee and perform manual testing for complex functional, regression, and exploratory scenarios.
Review pull requests (PRs), provide technical guidance, and mentor junior and mid level QA engineers.
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure high quality releases.
Drive test strategy, test planning, and risk based testing approaches across multiple projects.
Ensure full coverage across API, Web, Security, Batch, Performance, Integration, and Database testing.
Implement CI/CD integrated automation pipelines and ensure test reliability and scalability.
Utilize AI assisted coding tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.) to accelerate automation development.
Establish QA best practices, documentation standards, and continuous improvement processes.

Required Technical Skills

Automation Tools: Selenium, Playwright
Programming Languages: C#, Java, TypeScript
Cloud Platforms: Azure (preferred), AWS or other cloud experience acceptable
CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent
AI Code Generation Tools: Copilot, Claude, or similar
Testing Expertise:

Security Testing
Batch System Testing
Performance Testing
Integration Testing
Database Testing (SQL proficiency required)

Required Leadership & Soft Skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management
Ability to lead and mentor QA engineers

Experience reviewing PRs and guiding automation best practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality results under deadlines
