OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support the implementation, configuration, management, and optimization of enterprise cloud infrastructure within its Microsoft Azure environment. This position is ideal for a cloud engineering professional who is passionate about building secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions while providing technical leadership and guidance to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to implement, configure, manage, and provide strategic guidance for cloud infrastructure within its Azure environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the security, stability, performance, and operational readiness of mission-critical cloud services while supporting cloud modernization initiatives and migration efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring deep Azure expertise, strong infrastructure and networking knowledge, and experience supporting enterprise-scale environments. This individual will collaborate with technical teams, provide recommendations to leadership, oversee disaster recovery and backup strategies, strengthen cloud security posture, and help maintain highly available production systems that support critical business operations.

Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Azure Engineering

  • Design, implement, configure, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud resources.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on Azure architecture, resource deployment, networking, and security best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain Azure environments to ensure reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Support cloud governance initiatives and infrastructure standardization efforts.

Cloud Migration & Modernization

  • Plan and execute migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.
  • Assess workloads and develop migration strategies that minimize business disruption.
  • Support modernization initiatives across diverse technology stacks and enterprise applications.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain Azure networking and security policies.
  • Partner with security teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Utilize security and vulnerability management tools, including Tenable, to support remediation initiatives.
  • Promote cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Monitoring, Observability & Operations

  • Develop and maintain monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Workbooks, Alerts, and related observability tools.
  • Create dashboards and alerting strategies that provide meaningful operational insights.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and production application issues in collaboration with support teams.
  • Support operational readiness and continuous improvement efforts.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Design, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for enterprise systems.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and prevent data loss.
  • Participate in recovery testing and operational resiliency planning.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical recommendations and infrastructure strategies to management and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate across teams supporting technologies including .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and other enterprise platforms.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and providing guidance on resources and infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
  • 8 years of experience planning and executing migrations from on-premises environments to Azure.
  • 8 years of experience working in mission-critical enterprise environments and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • 8 years of experience implementing networking and security policies in Azure.
  • 8 years of experience using Azure Monitor for alerting, observability, and dashboard development.
  • 8 years of experience with vulnerability remediation and security initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, OSI model functionality, and network protocols.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting production applications.
  • Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.
  • Must be able to attend an in-person interview.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or related Azure credentials.
  • Networking certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience working across diverse enterprise technology environments including .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and related platforms.
  • Experience with Tenable and enterprise vulnerability management programs.

CompensationThis is a 1099 Contract role.Pay Rate: $77 – $97 per hour
