HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager Export Compliance is responsible for developing and managing compliance processes, procedures, and system interfaces for a large multi-national company, while ensuring compliance with U.S. export laws and regulationsThis is a hybrid position based near Irvine, CA.
EXPECTATIONS
- Operationalize export regulations through development and management of systemic controls
- Develop and maintain Compliance Tables and data in ERP and WMS systems
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence
- Coordinate operations for export shipments; ECCN classification, documentation, and AES filing
- Develop and maintain SOPs to ensure compliance with export laws and regulations
- Conduct internal and external audits and develop corrective action plans
- Identify and report trade compliance violations and lead investigations
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact and drive strategy
- Build trade metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Lead and develop the Global Trade Compliance team building best in class practices
ESSENTIALS
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of experience in export controls, compliance, and trade operations
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of BIS, EAR/ITAR, OFAC - encryption & category 5 a plus
- Experience with export licensing requirements
- Experience working with IT teams on SAP/GTS configuration and implementation
- Technical acumen and data analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels
