Job Description
The Sr Compliance Coordinator will aid the department with all aspects of its day-to-day tasks, including, but not limited to, preparing and reporting on the disciplinary actions imposed by the AKC’s management disciplinary committees, assisting with casework, and conducting inquiries that are assigned to it.
*This is a hybrid position requiring onsite in our Raleigh office.
Primary Job Duties
- Review cases for possible disciplinary action by the Management Disciplinary Committee.
- Evaluate and conduct inquiries assigned by the supervisor, including case setup, review, and recommendations to management for disciplinary action. Many files are complex and deal with situations, such as: false certifications, forgeries, cruelty to animals, misconduct at AKC events, etc.
- Set up, review, research, evaluate based on evidence, and compose letters concerning inquiries received by the Compliance Department, including customer requests and subpoenas.
- Assist the department to track and record all of the disciplinary actions imposed by the Management Disciplinary Committee.
- Set up, review, and draft letters concerning inquiries received by the Compliance Department.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all casework.
- Handles calls from individuals who are affected by disciplinary actions.
- Review, process, track, and assist third parties affected by disciplinary actions with registration.
Required Skills, Specialized Knowledge, and Competency Requirements
- Strong analytical and computer skills; ability to prioritize and perform work without direct supervision; flexibility to handle several cases simultaneously.
- Duties involve frequent use of email, internet, and AKC software.
- Must possess average to above-average skills using Office software, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Pro, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to deal effectively with customers, senior staff, and peers. Must work efficiently with peers and management and meet deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of AKC rules and programs and/or experience in the sport are critical to this position.
