Job Description
Position Summary
Exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in electronics design, PCB layout, and embedded hardware development. You will be part of a global engineering team working on advanced instrumentation products such as transducers and electrical switches that measure pressure, level, temperature, flow, and speed. This role focuses on hardware design, embedded firmware development, and compliance testing for industrial environments. Candidates must have hands-on experience with analog/digital circuit design, PCB development, and microcontroller programming.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Development
- Lead end-to-end design of instrumentation and control products (e.g., transducers, transmitters, electronic switches) from concept to launch.
- Architect and design electronics systems, including analog/digital circuits and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium or Eagle.
- Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers in C/C++ and integrate with hardware systems.
- Prototype and validate hardware designs, ensuring proper integration with mechanical components.
- Perform compliance, functional, and environmental testing-including EMI/EMC, hazardous locations, vibration, shock, and climatic-to ensure adherence to specifications and certification standards
Sustaining Engineering
- Drive engineering changes and cost-reduction initiatives without compromising form, fit, or function.
- Support production with technical inquiries and troubleshooting.
- Address customer quality issues with urgency and provide robust design solutions.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead project teams and coordinate with global design centers in Germany and India.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, certification agencies, and customers.
Critical Skills & Experience
- Hands-on expertise in analog and digital circuit design (Op-Amps, Filters, SPICE simulation).
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle or equivalent).
- Embedded C programming experience for microcontrollers and hardware integration.
- Knowledge of ultra-low power mixed-signal electronics for industrial automation.
- Experience with EMI/EMC compliance testing and hazardous location certifications.
- Familiarity with DFM, FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
Professional Experience/ Skills & Qualifications
- BS/MS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in electromechanical or mechatronics systems design.
- Strong background in embedded hardware development, including:
- Microcontroller-based designs (RAM, EEPROM).
- ASICS bases designs
- Analog/digital circuit design and signal conditioning.
- Crystal oscillator circuits, UART, LED/LCD interfaces.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and debugging tools.
- Preferred knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, BLE, I²C, SPI).
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (QAD or equivalent).
Salary range: $137,000 to $152,000 with 5% bonus potential. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
