Caterpillar Inc. seeks Sr Engineering Project Team Leader at its facility located at 875 W Cushing Street, Tucson, AZ 85745. 50% team leader, 50% individual contributor with technical expertise. Team leaders oversee their own growth, learn from experience, comprehend customer needs and how the product or process is applied, and stay updated with technological advancements. Utilize strong program/project management and organizational abilities. Enhance team creativity, facilitate cooperation, and communicate tasks effectively. Act as the spokesperson in meetings, build networks for resources, and contribute to performance reviews. Manage vision and purpose, decision quality, and negotiating. Set project-level strategies to address specific technology, component, product, or process issues. Project scope may vary and requires expanding business knowledge. Understand and convey project benefits to customers, draw on skills such as conceptual design, data analysis, failure resolution, and requirements management. Team leaders must assemble and guide diverse teams to solve technical problems or create critical components and systems. Key responsibilities include planning and managing projects, business and financial oversight, providing a supportive work environment, mentoring, and personal development. Interact with varied technical and cultural backgrounds. Work with contractors, employees, suppliers, customers, and different Caterpillar organizations. Decisions can significantly affect product performance, durability, reliability, quality, serviceability, warranties, non-quality costs, patents, technologies, expenses, sales, and customer perceptions. Complete projects on time, regardless of hours worked. Communicate trade-offs between time, resources, and quality to both customers and management. REQS: This position requires a master's degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in Heavy mining, Construction, off -highway machine products or related occupation. In the alternative, employer will also accept a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field and 8 years of experience in Heavy mining, Construction, off -highway machine products or related occupation. The position also requires employment experience in the following: (1) Leading and managing projects involving analysis, design, testing and validation of Large Mining or Construction machine equipment; (2) Performing structural analysis, non-linear bolted joint analysis, and fatigue evaluation of Large Mining or Construction machine structures and linkages; (3) Carrying out Structural response dynamics analysis and correlation; (4) Performing Multibody dynamics in Dynasty or MSC ADAMS or equivalent; (5) Pre-test planning, instrumentation, and post-test data processing using DATK or MATLAB; and (6) ABAQUS, NASTRAN, HYPERMESH, CREO. Travel: None. Telecommuting: up to 3 days/week.

Summary Pay Range:

$176,862.00 - $221,640.00
