Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label charcoal, manufactured fire logs, fire building products, matches and toothpicks.  In addition, the Company also manufactures railroad cross ties, which strengthens our relationship with our suppliers in the charcoal business.  We offer a full suite of grilling products, including charcoal briquettes, all-natural lump charcoal, fire starters along with the Pine Mountain fire building brand, the Diamond brand, and the Specialty Wood Products brand.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Category & Business Insights will act as Walmart's category expert by providing best in class unbiased category & shopper insights and winning market recommendations. This position works closely with the Walmart merchant team to develop and grow total category sales by analyzing multiple data sources, identifying business insights and recommending assortment solutions. This strategic thinker within the category will aggressively build strategies for share growth. Alongside advisership responsibilities, this individual will also manage the end-to-end modular drawing process ensuring flawless execution.

Job Responsibilities:

Category Management & Business Insights

• Act as the category SME for Walmart to provide assortment guidance and recommendations to the Walmart merchant team.
• Leverage syndicated and shopper data to assist Walmart's decision making and identify category growth opportunities.
• Generate weekly, monthly, and sometimes daily ad hoc reporting to provide Walmart with actionable insights that drive category and share growth.
• Ownership over the annual MOD drawing process within the assigned category driving excellence in end-to-end modular execution.  
• Develop compelling presentations informing the Walmart merchant team on critical assortment gaps and shopper opportunities.
• Assist the Sr Replenishment Manager within the category to improve inventory positions and decrease markdowns.
• Generate Weekly and/or daily POS reports for related categories.
• Capture and archive all market pricing conditions across multiple retailers driving attention to gaps and subsequent performance indicators.
• Assign in item setup as needed working cross-functionally with compliance and connected departments.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (emphasis in category/sales/marketing or related field).
• 10+ years of experience working with a leading CPG company in marketing, sales or category management (Walmart experience required).
• Deep understanding of category management principles.
• Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and syndicated data platforms (Circana, Nielsen).
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with the customer, and cross-functional teams.
• Solid understanding with space planning software (Blue Yonder) and leveraging that knowledge to drive best in class on shelf principles.
• Strong familiarity with sales metrics and software and retailer POS (e.g., Circana, Nielsen, and Scintilla).  
• Experience analyzing retailer data and presenting insights and recommendations to Walmart merchants.
• Proven ability to analyze and identify insights from diverse data sources.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to drive action plans with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
• Previous people management experience is strongly preferred.
