Job Description
We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to develop core skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and collections follow-up
- Support accounts payable functions, including vendor invoice verification and payment processing
- Help process payroll and ensure accurate recording of payroll-related transactions
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Support the team with ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 0-5 years of accounting experience (internships and relevant coursework considered)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and the general ledger system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Experience with accounting software (Great Plains, Management Reporter etc.) is a plus but not required
